6 podcasts that makes me smarter (and happier)

I love podcasts. It's the perfect way to survive the subway to work, a long walk or maybe when you have to do boring things at work. So, here are some of my favorites! (And I'm always interested in finding new ones.)

talThis American Life

You simply can not make a list of great podcasts and fail to include This American Life. Every episode starts with Ira Glass and an introduction to the theme of todays show. Then follows different stories on that theme. It's pretty much always awesome.

stbym-250x150Stuff To Blow Your Mind

On Stuff To Blow Your Mind, Robert and Julie talks about different subjects that, well, pretty much blow your mind. They manage to make science both easy to understand and entertaining to listen to.

  • Recommended episodes: The Basics is a good start.
  • Also note: They have listed a bunch of usable forms here (that has been mentioned in the podcast).

Planet Money

Planet Money

Planet Money is the podcast for all the people who thought they weren't interested in economy. News flash: You are. You just haven't listened to this podcast yet.

Communication Research Center

Communication Research Center

Not sure if they still update this podcast, but the archive is well worth your time. This is a podcast from Communication Research Center in Boston, where they publish some of the lectures from classes. A lot of them is really good, even though the sound is not always the best.

HBR IdeaCast

HBR IdeaCast

HBR IdeaCast is a weekly podcast from Harvard Business Review, with interviews with a lot of really interesting people.
