So me and Rachel, who also stayed in the same hostel and was a lot of fun, spent a day hanging out with animals.
Some more chilled that others.
One of the things I really like about this place, is that they have a real purpose with having a zoo; they want people to love the animals as much as they do, and thereby help them save wildlife in Australia and the rest of the world. This is a picture from when they were training the tigers, by letting them do things that are natural to them, not with doing stupid things us humans find entertaining.
Hello little elephant.
And of course we had to hang out with kangaroos.
Good thing about Rachel – she dislikes birds as much as I do. We went quite quickly through the bird cages. They are pretty though.
Then it was time for the big show. Speaking of creepy birds, this guy was HUGE. Had like a zillion heart attacks from birds flying over me.
And of course, the crocodile. They are seriously fast in the water. On land, not so much.
There was a whole lot of lizards also.
And the koalas! Just as cute as you imagine them. The pretty much just hang out sleep most of the day.
All in all, definitely worth a visit. Especially when you think about the fact that your visit helps save wildlife in Australia.
